My first long game review! 115 games in 1 (Bootleg) Page 1 out of 5
Hi guys1 Long time, no see! Today, I will be reviewing this bootleg cartridge, 115 games in 1. These games remove the copyright, logos, etc. So I'll be reviewing the first 20. Tomorrow, 42, them 64, 86, and 93. The rest are NES Zapper games or the same game but edited, which I will cover (not the NES Zapper games). Let's get this list on!
I love this game. But it's already on the NES Classic, so I'll pass. 9/10. There's a secret for pausing the game. KONAMI CODE! The pro version gives you all of the items (except lazer, I think.)
Release date unknown on NES: November 13, 1986????
This game is horrible. Once you enter that door, YOU CAN'T ESCAPE! You have to keep shooting at blocks until you find a key and a door. Enemies are everywhere, and once you die, you start over. Rating: 1/10
Original Name: Musashi no Ken - Tadaima Shugyō Chū
JP: August 8, 1986
This game is also bad. The NES game is based on a Japanese anime, which I haven't checked out yet. But about the game, once you enter the platforming stage and attack an enemy, they will keep appearing on the side, even if the enemy falls off the platform!!!!! 0/10 for me. But if you want to challenge this game, I dare you.
1. Islander
Original game: Adventure Island
JP: September 12, 1986 (FC, MSX)
This game is bad. Now why do you ask? Well you can't jump on enemies. To get to the end of the level, you must collect fruit before your time runs out, avoid enemies, etc. One thing I hate about this game is the skateboard item. It is hard to control, that you can end up dying. My score is 5/10.
2. Grading
Original Game: Gradius
3. Maze Song
Original Game: Milon's Secret CastleRelease date unknown on NES: November 13, 1986????
This game is horrible. Once you enter that door, YOU CAN'T ESCAPE! You have to keep shooting at blocks until you find a key and a door. Enemies are everywhere, and once you die, you start over. Rating: 1/10
4. 634 Sword
5. New Type
Original Name: Adventures of Dino Riki (US), Shin Jinruji: The New Type (JP)
The game is okay for me. I love the first music when you begin the game, really catchy. But the gameplay is bad when you get to the water part. It is hard for me to get to the lilypad, that you fall in the water and die. Some games let you swim in water, but NOT THIS ONE! Otherwise, 5/10 for me. The pro versions do this:
- Pro 1 Changes the music to the 1st level's theme on the title screen. Gives you the boomerang object.
- Pro 2 changes the music to a stage theme on the title screen. Gives you the fire object
- Pro 3 changes the title screen music. And you shoot clones of yourself for an odd reason.
- Pro 4 does the same to the title screen. You shoot clones of yourself, but when hit you change into a muscular guy, and you don't lose health until you fall in water.
6. Flipull
Original Game: Plotting (US???), Flipull (JP)
Release: Unknown, but 1989.
It's a fun game. I would recommend this game. 10/10.
7. Quarth
Really fun to play. The goal is to shoot all the blocks before it touches the line. For me, 10/10 with catch music. Nice Konami. For an odd reason, it got me hooked.
8. Tetris
Original: Tetris (BPS Japan)
Release: Unknown
The only thing I like about this Tetris is the music, but the gameplay has the controls reversed. Instead of using the arrows to drop you press B or A to drop and the arrows are used to rotate the pieces. WHAT? This kind of messed me up. Who plays Tetris with reverse controls? 2/10 for the music, but the gameplay's controls is bad.
9. Tetris II
Original: Tengen Tetris
Release: 1989 (banned because it was pirated)
This is a port of the arcade, but for some reason, it was banned. It is rare now. 9/10.
Only 10 more left!!!
10. Star Soldier
Original: Star Soldier
Really cool game, but how do you defeat the boss? If you fail to defeat the boss, you are taken where??? Back to the beginning. But you won't lose a life. Otherwise 8.5/10. The pro version gives you more power.
11. Goonies
Original Name: The Goonies
Based on the movie, your goal is to... I forgot. Level 1's theme is catchy, because it is the 8-Bit theme of "Goonies R' Good Enough". The enemies are annoying, but 7.5/10.
12. Legendary
Original: Legend of Kage
The Legend of Kage is hard for me. I think the goal is to get all of the ninjas, but they are everywhere that you die. 1/10.
13. Arkanoid
Original: Arakanoid
Release: Unknown, 1986 in arcade
Basically Arakanoid. I'll pass on the rating because there's so many clones of this.
14. Thunder Bike
Original Name: Seicross
Release: 1984
Basically, it's bad. You control a bike and avoid obstacles and other bikes but the bikes in the game are trying to drain your energy and wanting to kill your player. 3/10.
15. Mario 2
Original: Super Mario Bros.
This is NOT the Lost Levels. This is the Famicom version of the 1st game. The pro version makes Mario move faster, but not that special. I'll pass on the rating because it's popular now!
5 left....
16. Soccer
Original: Soccer
Just soccer on the NES by Nintendo. I'll pass on the rating.
17. Twinbee
Original: TwinBee
This is the first Konami game to use it's famous pause sound effect. Cute, too! When you get a powerup, it makes me hyped to play this game. 9/10.
18. B Wings
Original: B Wings
JP: June 3, 1986
For this game, you can choose different weapons and attacks. The game's enemies can be hard, otherwise 9.5/10, I guess.
19. 1942
Original Game: 1942
The gameplay can be glitchy, but fun. However, the music is ear grating. The main theme just keeps looping over and over. But, when you pause the game, it makes this "bloop-bloop" sound. Huh? This is a Micronics game, the company that made that horrible Super Pitfall and Elevator Action (I will cover tomorrow). If you hear that, you know it's a Micronics game. Some of their games doesn't have this pause sound (Athena on the NES), but if you see glitchy graphics and bad music, it's a Micronics game. Back to the game. There's green planes that will fly around and kill you. The victory theme is so ear grating, that you might want to take your headphones out. 7/10 for the game, bad music. If you beat the game, you just get this congratulations message. That's it????
Finallly…….
20. Spartan
Original: Kung-Fu
NA: October 18, 1985
Don't let this fool you. You think this is a warrior game, right? WRONG! The title screen says, "Spartan-X" (no joke, see image) but this is Kung-Fu in disguise. Wow game, how can you fool me like that?
REAL, NOT PHOTOSHOP.
How did they do the title screen? Cool! But the gameplay. Enemies are everywhere like the Legend of Kage. One guy will throw a knife at you and you must predict: will he throw at your face or at your legs. Well, 8.5/10 because of the title screen that will fool anyone.
Anyways, tomorrow I will review the 42 games on the games. Comment your favorite game from this list, some info on these games, or more! What would you rate these games? Tell me below. See you tomorrow!
